Exterior design

The wide stance of the new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer is highlighted by integrated wheel arch extensions. The smooth wrap-around profile blends the light clusters, fog lights and grille into a fluid and dynamic structure, including the “wing” light signature.

Too many estate cars lack charm in side profile. Not the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer. The coupé-like lines have been smoothly extended into the wrap-around tailgate in a way that successfully emphasizes it´s proportions.

The rear hatch is fully sculpted to extend the sporting lines. The waist level mounting of the lights, wrap-around rear screen, chrome Opel wing motif and Blitz, together with wide track and roof spoiler, combine to make a strong impression.

The result looks aerodynamic, which is only to be expected, for the Sports Tourer was thoroughly refined in the wind tunnel.

Interior design

All main surfaces are textured with “soft touch” materials, giving the cabin a premium tactile quality. The top front fascia panel is a continuous arc that flows into the shaped door moldings, lending the cabin a wide and spacious ambience. The steep rake of the windshield has allowed the front passenger airbag to be accommodated without compromising space for a large glove box.

The increased size of the body allows more overall interior space.
