These first images of the new generation Opel Astra GTC may show it in a virtual landscape, but as it races down an imaginary road, real test cars are now running final validation drives: The Astra GTC is officially a production reality.
The Opel Ampera is set to establish an entirely new segment in the European automotive market. Scheduled to enter the market later this year, the five-door, four-seat Ampera is designed to provide all the benefits of an electric vehicle while eliminating range anxiety.

The series production model of Opel’s revolutionary extended-range electric vehicle, the Ampera, will make its grand premiere at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show (March 3-13).

Now available with Start/Stop technology, the Astra 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX brings even greater efficiency to Opel’s recently launched compact car: The 5-door hatchback version with Start/Stop reduces its CO2 emissions from 109 to just 104 g/km and its combined fuel consumption from 4.1 liters to 3.9 liters per 100 km.
As of today, Opel will once again operate as a stock corporation. The court in Darmstadt officially approved the application that was filed in November following the shareholder’s decision to pursue a change of the company’s legal form. The company is now officially registered as Adam Opel AG (“Aktiengesellschaft”) at the Darmstadt court.
